Brooke Elliott is an actress, and singer born in Fridley, Minnesota on
November 16, 1974.
Brooke began singing when she was 3 years old, and began acting in school
plays while in high school.
In 1998, she graduated Western Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Fine
Arts in Musical Theatre Performance.
Brooke first worked as a temp, and as a waitress at a 50's- themed restaurant, where she danced on tables, every hour.
Brooke attended acting classes with acting coach Bob, Krakower, and
received voice coaching from Jane Grace Kennedy.
In 1999, Brooke was a member of Chicago based stage combat theatre company
Babes With Blades for 10 weeks.
Her first professional role in the theatre was as the Sugar Bowl, in the US
touring version of "Beauty and the Beast".
Brooke appeared with Adam Lambert in the North American tour of
"Wicked".
Her first Broadway role with Boy George in "
Taboo".
In 2006, Brooke went on to play Majella in "The Pirate Queen" in Chicago,
and then in 2007, the show was moved to Broadway.
Brooke's first film role was in 2007, "What Women Want" starring actor Mel
Gibson.
Her first television role was in and episode of "Law & Order": Trial by
Jury.
In 2009, Brooke was cast as the star of Lifetime's comic drama "Drop Dead
Diva" which is in it's 5th season. She sings on the series soundtrack. Brook has
been nominated from 2009-2011 for her work on "Drop Dead Diva". In 2010, she
worn a Gracie award for Female Rising Star in a Comedy Series for "Drop Dead
Diva".
