A rite of passage for many lead singers, setting off into a solo career has liberated Natalia Jiménez and unleashed a new, more mature artist.

Natalia Jiménez quickly became a household name during her nine years with the Latin Grammy-winning La Quinta Estación. Her ballads thundered into the hearts of fans from Spain to Mexico, Venezuela and all the way to Argentina, and the group’s elaborate productions turned their live shows into must-see events wherever they toured. But after almost a decade, dozens of awards and accolades, and more than 1.5 million records sold, the enigmatic lead singer branched out to try her luck as a solo artist.

Her long-anticipated self-titled debut album was released in June, bolstered by her successful first single, “Por ser tu mujer.” Infused with an edgier intensity than her previous efforts with La Quinta Estación, the album screams with maturity, signaling Jiménez’s creative growth and her desire to establish a sound that will be familiar to fans who have grown up with her, but at the same time resonate with their own changing tastes.
It’s a calculated risk — one that Jiménez embraces with the same passion she transmits through her music. Her yearlong metamorphosis into a solo artist has given way to a stronger, more independent woman who, much more than a singer with the power to write and perform music, acknowledges her role as a decision maker and a brand, and understands the importance that business savvy plays in the longevity of her career.

On recording as a solo artist instead of as a lead singer
“Honestly, there wasn’t much of a difference. The only thing was I got more involved with the details. I spent more time in the studio, I was there during the production, I chose my own producer — Emilio Estefan, I chose pretty much everything myself. I did that stuff before, but back then I had to talk it over with the rest of the group and see what they thought. It was almost like we all had to get each other’s permission. But I don’t have to ask permission anymore and it’s really great. I’ve pretty much done whatever I wanted!
“I felt very liberated while making this album. In fact, there were songs I recorded that I didn’t like afterwards, so I took them out and replaced them with new songs later. I wrote 15 or 20 songs for this album, but only ended up using about seven or eight of them. The songs on the album that aren’t mine were originally written in English, but I translated them into Spanish, so it’s as if they’re partly mine, too.”

Natalia Jimenez launching new solo album in April!

I am sure by now most of you know who the talented Natalia Jimenez is right? If you don’t then I will tell you a little more about this amazing singer whose voice makes anyone feel the same passion she feels when she is performing. The first time I heard Natalia’s voice was when she was the lead singer in a group named 5ta Estacion (5th Season). Her voice captivated me as she sang a song named “Algo Mas” (Something More). Just like her voice, this song had very powerful lyrics as it talks about how she felt much more than a connection with that special person. She describes “the one” perfect relationship in which everything feels so perfect, almost as if you have known that person for an eternity. I then started to listen to her other songs and realized that this was a very different and talented singer and that her voice would eventually stand out and she would become a major super star.

Natalia has united her voice with many talented singers such as Marc Anthony and just recently with Ricky Martin. This past November, right after performing at the Latin Grammy’s with Ricky she announced that she was working on her first solo album. According to Univision.com, Natalia is thrilled that this album will be released this April and she is counting the weeks, days, minutes to the launching of this very special creation.

Natalia has been very supportive of Ricky Martin and she is focusing on his success but never neglecting her new project. In an interview by Univision.com Natalia happily stated “It's Ricky Martin and I am very happy for him, and also happy for the fact of restarting my career a soloist.” She also stated: “I'm hysterical, my God, it’s unbearable. It's an album that will contain 12 songs. They are all mine except for maybe four, I’m good at rock, pop, the ballads, but I also wanted more Latino flavor. I made a little tribute to Venezuela, Colombia, all South American countries which in the past I have left a little with abandoned, "she said enthusiastically.

I am sure this album will be amazing because Natalia puts a lot of love and passion into her music. When you have a chance listen to some of her songs and I know you will feel her deep emotion. As of right now her single is supposed to be released sometime in February and the album will be released in April. So if you are ready to be live a passionate adventure that will leave you wanting more, then check out Natalia’s music as I am sure it will leave you wanting more!

Peace & Love!

 Translation By Candela Spirit
Media Research Fantasia

"As a prelude to his brand new concert tour, the singer Ricky Martin presented some of his new songs in the recording of the first MTV Latino, Studio Tr3s.  The recording was made late Monday in the Comtel Studio in the city of Miami.  The artist, according univision.com, projected himself on stage very sensual, explosive, and with an undeniable Boricua flavor.

At the conference, he was accompanied by guests of his new production Music + Soul + Sex, Wisin & Yandel and Natalia Jiménez.

With exponents of urban music, the Latin pop star fired up the fans with the theme “Frio” (Cold)  while the voice of La Quinta Estación reached a rather more romantic version of  “Lo Mejor De Mi Vida Eres Tu” (The Best Thing About Me is You).

"I feel important because it is the most different song in this album, the song that opened the cd when Ricky took his first step out into the world and recognized how he felt and I think I'm part of that. For me it is historical, I'm part of it, "said the singer after her participation.

Wisin, on his part, recognized the need for this type of musical collaborations. "I think it's an issue that will give much to talk about. These combinations are what gives strength to the music”, explained the Univision Music reggaeton singer.

This program, which airs in the U.S. on February 12, will mark the beginning of this platform, in which Latino figures may present their work, while sharing views on a question and answer session. Ricky Martin answers questions touched by colleagues such as Juanes, Pitbull and Rene Perez of Calle 13."

Dance with Ricky Martin

Ricky returned with much strength and rhythm, which is very contagious as you watch his new music video “Lo Mejor De Mi Vida Eres Tu” (The Best Thing About Me Is You) singing a duet with Natalia Jiménez which explodes from the first single from the album Musica + Alma + Sexo. We premiered the exclusive Spanish-language video before anyone else for your eyes to truly enjoy yourself  with the Puerto Rican star, but if you just keep wanting more, we also give you the English version.

The visual story was filmed in Miami, a tropical place where Ricky felt comfortable with images to illustrate “Lo Mejor De Mi Vida Eres Tu”).

In this video, Ricky appears to enjoy life, diversity and the joy of all people, so no one better to portray this than the Puerto Rican director, Carlos Perez, to bring to life the idea that the singer had in mind.

“Lo Mejor De Mi Vida Eres Tu” is the first single from the forthcoming album Ricky, Musica + Alma + Sexo, which goes on sale on February 1st. The Spanish version of this song is accompanied by Spanish singer Natalia Jimenez, while the English track is sung by the voice of Joss Stone.
